Abstract:

Abstract Although the elevators consume electric energy approximately 4% to 5% of the total energy consumption in residential building but in a rise building which consist of large number of elevators, the amount of energy saving can increase and become more suitable accepted value. In this study energy saving of elevators can be achieved by design an electronic circuit installed in the control panel on the main supply of the machine. The electronic circuit can disconnect the power supply through remote control exist with the passenger. The measurements were carried out for one week on in residential building 12 floors, each floor consists one department, and the building bas one elevator. The results of the measurements concluded that: The total energy before and after using the electronic circuit are (99.8) kwh are (80) kwh respectively, i.e. the benefit is (18.8) kwh with percentage of approximately (19%). Although this value is relatively small, but for large, high-rise building using more than one lift, the value can increase and become more suitable accepted value.
