Abstract:

The current research aimed to enhance the skills of using e-learning platforms and improve cognitive awareness among educational technology students by measuring the effect of comment format (textual/audio) in interactive videos. To achieve this goal, a descriptive research methodology, system development, and experimental approach were employed. The research tools included an achievement test, an observation checklist, and a cognitive awareness scale. The study was applied to a sample of 100 students from the third year of the Educational Technology Department at the Faculty of Specific Education, Benha University, for the academic year 2023-2024. The sample was divided into two experimental groups according to the research variables. After applying the research tools and experimental treatment materials to the main sample, the most significant findings indicated a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental groups in the achievement test and observation checklist, attributed to the effect of comment format (textual, audio) in interactive videos on enhancing skills for using e-learning platforms and improving cognitive awareness among educational technology students, in favor of the experimental group that studied with audio comments.
