Abstract:

ThismanuscriptconsiderstheproblemofMHDboundarylayerflow and heat transfer of power – law fluid with variable fluid properties over a nonlinear stretching sheet in the presence of viscous dissipation and thermal radiation subject to a non-uniform transverse magnetic field and non-uniform heat generation. The governing boundary layer equations are transformed into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using suitable transformation which are solved numerically using fourth order Rung-Kutta integration scheme coupled with the shooting method. The effects of various parameters on the velocity, temperature, local skin-friction andthelocalNusseltnumberarepresentedanddiscussed.Wefound that is as the radiation parameter R increases the temperature of a power-lawfluidandtheNusseltnumberincrease,whiletheviscosity parameterincreasingleadstodecreasingonthevelocityofthefluid andlocalskin-friction.
