Abstract:

Teaching using computers is one of vital topics that has benn tremendously developed since the existence of the artificial intelligence. This paper presents an interactive intelligent shell system for an expert system in the domain of intelligent teaching using computers. The suggested system resides in an inference engine separated from a knowledge base according to which it can be used with any knowledge base in the educational field. The suggested system requires three basic supports: Firstly, problem solving expertise; which is part of the knowledge base of the system in concern and encompass all knowledge related to the educational field required to be transferred to the student. Secondly, Student model; for the system to solve so as to select the best method convenient for teaching, and Thirdly, The tutoring model; where the suggested system functions as a private tutor leading to the acknowledge of the student personality through query answering for properly evaluating the student level and thereby adopting the relevant explanatory method to his status; altogether with setting the alternatives to enhance the student level. The knowledge base required to interconnect the computers with all external circuits has been set and tested with various categories of students proving simplicity, interactiveness and ease of use. Considering that the outcome of dealing with this system can vary as the discrepancy in the level of the knowledge base in its domain and in the student cross-section using this system. This research at its end goal presents suggestions and visualizations for the use of computers in educational field in Egypt.
