Abstract:

The search engines are special sites on the internet that are designed to assist the internet user to allocate information registered in the other sites. These search engines have become of paramount importance for the internet user, due to the continuous increase of inexpert users and to excessive crowding of information. This work presents an intelligent interactive system for an Arabic web-based search engine, and will consist of two main parts namely: A client side to introduce the sentence required to search for, and the second part is the server side that consisting of three basic parts: The indexer used in storing the site content on the system database, and the second part is the searcher used to allocate the sentence required by the user within the database of the system, and finally the third is the registration part which allow the user to registered its site in the search engine. The system dedicated database, and a user interface were designed to facilitate the user dealing with HTML. This interactive system was tested on various internet sites and has yield satisfactory results. Visual basic, HTML, ASP, MS-Access were used in building the system.
