Abstract:

Sudden shift of Egyptian land areas along fault lines occurred on October 12/1992 the maximum intensity of which fortunately has not exceeded 5.6 on the Richter Scale and was followed by some earth tremors all of them are very small. This situation has generated distress among the population and led to many economic, and environmental sanitation problems. The people and government of Egypt has taken the situation seriously, emergency measures were carried out and control of environmental health has been strengthened including rescue, evacuation, medical care, housing, camping sanitation etc. Some environmental management recommendation and guidelines are presented which could be of value for the country emergency action.
