Abstract:

A mobile house is a prefabricated type of housing characterized by its mobility which can be used as a temporary accommodation for people. Intensive study of available data on mobile houses has revealed the need for a new type of a green mobile house as a solution for run-down houses. This forms a temporary settlement that can be parked near the original compromised habitation in order to maintain the lifestyle of inhabitants. In this research a subjective design methodology has been adopted in which the main design parameters are analyzed and given special consideration in a proposed final design of a green mobile house. The proposed design forms a sort of mini-eco-flexible-system having a little impact on the environment. It gives freedom because it can be oriented according to the site characteristics and can easily be moved. This design considers sleeping, dining and living facilities. Solar cells will be used for the generation of power. Waste disposal and sewage are easily recycled. Natural ventilation and lighting are also of prime importance. By taking account of these design considerations, the green concepts will be woven in a unique manner with the four main principles of flexibility in a mobile house. The proposed design will allow users to configure their houses as their needs change.
