Abstract:

In this paper the steady-state performance of different types of DC motors (series, separately-excited and shunt) fed from a photovoltaic array are obtained by the simulation of the photovoltaic array / motor system using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. To validate the simulations presented in this paper, the results obtained from the simulations of the system were compared with results obtained using MATLAB as a programming tool and also compared with other published work and the three sets of results were identical.
