ظهر فى الآونة الأخيرة تأثيراً كبيراً للبرمجيات الحديثة والآلات التى تدعم فى تقنيات تشغيلها نظم الذكاء الإصطناعى، فى مجال الصناعة والإنتاج، وأصبح لأجهزة الحاسب الآلي والبرامج والخوارزمات التى تعمل من خلالها دوراً فاعلاً فى تبسيط الحياة اليومية للمستخدمين، ومن المؤكد أن التطورات التقنية الجديدة سيكون لها تأثيراً مباشراً على سوق العمل العالمي خلال السنوات القليلة المقبلة، ولن يكون التأثير مقتصراً فقط على الوظائف الصناعية ولكن على جوهر المهام البشرية في كافة قطاعات العمل. لذلك كان من الأهمية إدراك والتكيف والتعامل مع المتغيرات الطارئة على العملية الإنتاجية بكل مكوناتها (إقتصادياً - تشريعياً - مراحل إنتاج - بيئة العمل - أفراد وإداريون وعمال - ...الخ)، بهدف مواكبة التطورات التكنولوجية العالمية وبخاصة فى العمليات الإنتاجية والإنتقال الآمن من الوضع الحالى إلى الإستفادة من المستجدات الناتجة عن الثورة الصناعية الرابعة دون الوقوع فى عزلة دولية وإجتماعية. ومن ذلك هدف البحث إلى إبراز أهمية وتعظيم دور مواكبة التطورات التكنولوجية العالمية وبخاصة فى العمليات الإنتاجية والإنتقال الآمن من الوضع الحالى إلى الإستفادة من المستجدات الناتجة عن الثورة الصناعية الرابعة، متبعاً فى ذلك المنهج الوصفى التحليلى، وذلك من خلال جمع المعلومات وتحليلها واستنباطها بهدف تحقيق هدف البحث. حيث تم تناول مفهوم مصطلح عصر الآلة الثانى "انترنت الأشياء - الثورة الصناعية الرابعة" من خلال التناول التاريخى لكل من الثورات الصناعية الأولى والثانية والثالثة وأهم ما قامت عليه والسمات المميزة لكل منها، ثم إنتقل البحث إلى سرد أهم التعديلات التى يجب أن تتم على النظم الحالية لإدراج تقنيات الثورة الصناعية الرابعة.، كما تم تناول بعض الأمثلة للتطبيقات التى تبرهن على أن الثورة الصناعية الرابعة قد دخلت بالفعل حيز التطبيق.
