Abstract:

The Gigante de España breed was created at the beginning of the 20th century in the region of Valencia (Spain). It was bred in many Spanish rabbit farms, but its numbers decreased drastically due to the appearance of commercial hybrids. As a result, a recuperation and conservation programme was undertaken. This document provides a general description of its census and physical and productive characteristics.
