Abstract:

The competitive learning method is based on the teacher's use of competitive forms during the educational process. In it, the teacher carries out the planning process, whereby the educational objectives are determined in light of the student's level and the required level of learning, and the educational materials are prepared. Before the learner carries out the competitive activity, the teacher explains the task, clarifies the goal, determines the desired behavioral patterns, and explains the rules of work and success criteria. Dividing students into groups, the teacher’s role is to guide the students’ behavior and performance, provide them with feedback, and assist them while carrying out tasks in order to master performance and improve the level of learning. Table tennis, also known as table tennis or “Ping Pong,” is a popular sport in which two or four people (two for each team) compete. To compete by hitting a light ball with small rackets, on a table divided in the middle by a small net. The researcher used the experimental method using the experimental design for two groups, the first experimental and the second control, and using the pre-post measurement for the two groups. On a sample of first-year students at the Faculty of Physical Education in Benha for the first semester of the academic year 2022/2023 AD, where the basic sample consisted of (40) students (20 students as an experimental group, 20 students as a control group in addition to the sample of exploratory studies, numbering (20) students The most important results were that the proposed program using competitive learning had a positive impact on some basic skills in table tennis, and that there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the post-measurements of the experimental and control groups in learning some basic skills in table tennis, in favor of the averages of the post-measurements of the experimental group.
