Abstract:

Dorcy 50 (Hydrogen Cyanamid; HC) at 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 % was applied to “EarliGrande” peach before budbreak in the last week of December. Dorcy 50 affected flowering buds, advanced flowering and reduced fruit set. Shoot length, number of leaves per shoot and leaf area was markedly increased with HC treatments. Moreover, HC treatments advanced harvesting dates and improved fruit quality. Fruit color, dimensions, weight, SSC, SSC / acid ratio and firmness were improved with Dorcy 50 treatments. The most effective concentration was 1.5 % Dorcy 50.
