Abstract:

Analysis of the performance of a 3-phase, fully-controlled bridge rectifier feeding static active loads, when the ac supply feeding the bridge is nonideal, is presented. The modes of operation of the system, which depend on the overlap angle, are fully investigated. Closed-form analytical expressions from which the performance characteristics can be obtained are derived without any approximation either in the shape of the load-current waveforms or in the overlap period.
