Abstract:

The paper develops the non-linear differential equations which describe the transient behaviour of a group of parallel-connected induction motors, either when fed from a stiff supply or when the supply is weak and the machine behaviour is interactive. A digital-computer solution of these equations provides a numerical prediction of the transient currents, voltages, torques and speeds of a laboratory-scale group of motors, in close agreement with experimentally-obtained results.
