Abstract:

The present study aims at preparing a training program to develop systematic intelligence for secondary stage students with learning disabilities in Mathematics and also investigates the effect of developing systematic intelligence on improving the quality of academic life and achievement in Mathematics. The participants of the study consist of (N= 62) students from first year secondary schools at Al-Madina Almounawara . These students are diagnosed as students with learning disabilities in Mathematics according to the diagnostic procedures that are followed. The Sequence matrices for Rafan , Bandar Gestalt test, , Battery of estimating the behavioral characteristics of adults with learning disabilities and diagnostic test in mathematics learning disabilities. The final sample is divided into two groups , the experimental group (N= 31) and the control group (N= 31) . The systematic intelligence test , the quality of academic life scale and the achievement test were applied to the both groups to achieve the equivalence between the two groups. The program was applied to the experimental group and the previous three instruments were also applied to both groups after the treatment to reveal the effectiveness of the program in improving the level of systematic intelligence , quality of academic life and achievement for the experimental group. The researchers use t-test to reveal the differences between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group . The results indicate that , there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post administration of the systematic intelligence test ( systematic recognition – systematic feeling – systematic thinking – systematic action ) in favor of the experimental group. There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post administration of the quality of academic life ( academic self management – academic self efficacy – academic belongings- academic communication ) in favor of the experimental group. There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group in the post administration of the achievement test in mathematics in favor of the experimental group.
