Abstract:

Twenty R.C. beams were tested to study the effect of the location of the first stirrup from the nearest support on the behavior of such beams. The tests showed that the locations of the first stirrup from the nearest support of beams originally failed by static shear are found to have a considerable effect on both load and deformation capacity of such R.C beams.
