Abstract:

Objective : To identify the distribution and pattern of the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Kalyoubia Governorate and to study the impact of genetic and environmental factors on the disease frequency and manifestations . Materials : Two hundred and twelve RA patients ( 79.3%were females, while 20.7% were males ), mean age was 45.5 years , mean duration of illness was 7 years . Methods : Full clinical sheet including history taking, general examina-tion, locomotor system examination, laboratory investigations, assess-ment of disease activity, radiological study, assessment of patient’s func-tional outcome in RA and social index and score . Results : RA in kalyoubia has an epidemiological pattern similar to oth-er Egyptian studies . Also it is similar to that in other countries, but may differ only in being with less manifestations, less deformities and less ex-tra-articular features
