Abstract:

Hydro-cortisone is an important mainstay drug of systemic connective tissues disorders such as rheumatoid. However, using high doses of hydrocortisone or normal doses for long time causes osteoporosis. This work aims to study. The effects of long time hydrocortisone treatment on the dielectric properties of the whole leg, skinned leg and tibia-tat bone. The obtained results showed ‘significant changes in dielectric parameters, minerals and water content. A good correlation was found between the obtained changes in bone tissues dielectric parameters and the changes in mineral and water content. The present work indicated the possibility of using dielectric parameters measurement for prediction of osteoporosis and calcification of bone.
