Abstract:

This study explores the potential of Halomonas aquamarina–derived L-glutaminase (L-GLS) as a novel anticancer agent by combining in vitro enzymatic assays and computational analyses. L-GLS was isolated and purified from marine bacterial strains, achieving high specific enzymatic activity and demonstrating optimized functional parameters in terms of pH and temperature. Computational studies support the enzyme’s interaction with cancer-related metabolic pathways, highlighting its promise as a therapeutic strategy by targeting glutamine metabolism in tumor cells.
