Abstract:

Background: Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS) refers to impairments and disorders that develop or continue following one or more lower back surgeries. This increasing clinical challenge highlighted a critical need for more evidence-based neurological physical therapy techniques in the field. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine how individuals with failed surgery for a back condition respond to low-level therapeutic lasers (LLLT) and core muscle training. Methods: The purpose of this study is to examine how individuals with failed surgery for a back condition respond to low-level therapeutic lasers (LLLT) and core muscle training. Results: Post-treatment, both groups showed significant improvements in NPRS, ODI, and bilateral SLR range of motion compared to baseline (P < 0.05). The mixed design 2 x 2 MANOVA revealed that the study group achieved significantly superior outcomes compared to the control group (P < 0.05). Specifically, the study group demonstrated greater reductions in pain and disability, alongside more substantial increases in bilateral SLR range of motion. Conclusion: FBSS was successfully managed by the combined LLLT and core training program, which significantly reduced pain, functional disability, and SLR range of motion
