Expanding the use of 6xx aluminumalloy series invarious industries is challengingduetotheneedforcost-effectiveweldingprocessesandoptimal settings toensurehigh-quality joints.Thepresent research focusedon the comparisonof jointperformanceof thepipesandplatesusingtungsteninert gas(TIG)andfrictionstirwelding(FSW)TheAA6082alloymaterialisused for pipes andplates used in the study. Various techniqueswere utilized, includinghardnessandtensiletests, andmicrostructuralexaminations.Using ascanningelectronmicroscope(SEM), thesurfacefractureofthespecimens thatfailedundertensiletensionwasalsoexamined.Thepresentresearchalso included the economic impact on the welding processes used. Results demonstrated that theweldobtainedusingFSWwasdefects freewhereas, internal flaws were seen in TIGwelded samples. The hardness value |
