Experience:

• Delivering a talk for female engineering students at the University of Petronas, Malaysia entitled ” Women in Engineering and women in higher education in Egypt” , 29 January 2013.
• Establishing the “International Quality Center” (IQC) in partnership with a group Egyptian universities staff (1996). The center specializes in quality control work and constructions materials testing. Some of the projects undertaken by the center are shown below.
• Participating in Training Workshops for Egyptian and international engineers at the "Egyptian Society of Engineers" and the "Development & Performance Improvement Center". Since 1997.
• Participating in the committee for "Upgrading and developing technical colleges" under the Supreme Council of Universities. 2005-2006.
• Participating in the working group at the Faculty of Engineering, Banha University for preparing the Tempus application to develop a new course entitled "Restoration and Rehabilatation of Structures for a Sustainable Society" in collaboration with Luleå University of Technology in Sweden and University of Ljublijana in Slovenia (application code RAROS, JEP - 34090 – 2006) , submitted to TEMPUS Program in December 2006.
• Participating in the working groups at the Faculty of Engineering, Banha University for preparing the proposals for new study programs in "Sustainable Development Engineering", "Structure Restoration Engineering" and "Materials Engineering". Submitted to the Faculty Board in January 2007.
• Working as a freelance consultant for several companies such as Cairo for Environmental Services, Giza for Environmental Services and Nasr Consultants for materials consultation and problem solving.
• Organizing a number of professional lectures and writing a number of technical reports. Details are given in the list of activities below (in Arabic).
• Member of the international advisory committee for the conference entitled "Sustainable Construction Materials and Technologies", Coventry, UK 11-13 June 2007.
• Writing the proposal for a new study program at Shoubra Faculty of Engineering entitled "Site Management and Construction Rehabilitation", to be offered for undergraduate level. The programs aims at preparing graduates to work as 'Residents Site Engineers' by arming them with the necessary knowledge in the fields of architecture, civil and surveying engineering. (May 2008).
• Revising the application forms presented to "The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt", under the "Support for Technical Education Program", (September 2008).
• Chairing the working group of the civil engineering department to participate in writing the new postgraduate curriculum for the faculty of engineering at Shoubra. The new curriculum is based on the credit hour system with the hope of attracting more students to the offered programs. (2008-2012)
• Cooperating with Theabes Academy to establish the curriculum for their new civil engineering department. This included preparing the curriculum in Arabic and English to conform with the Ministry of Higher Education requirements. (2009)
• Working within the faculty of engineering at Shoubra as part of the core quality group implementing the continuous education improvement and preparation for accreditation project. Mainly responsible for the postgraduate criteria of the project. (2009-2010)
• Writing up the new credit hour curriculum for the Architecture and Civil Engineering Departments at the Higher Engineering Institute, 15 May City, including the study plan and course content lists. (2010-2011)
• Amendments to the Canadian International College Engineering Curriculum to comply with both the Ministry of Higher Education requirements and the bylaws of the Canadian Partners (2011-2012).
• Heading the quality assurance department at the Canadian International College. (2011-2012)
• Using the Online Course Management System (CMS) during teaching the courses at the Canadian International College, all powerpoint lectures, assignments, exam model answers were uploaded on the CMS for the benefit of students. (2011-2012)
• Working as the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education coordinator for “The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) project: Gender Equality in the Egyptian Higher Education System, http://www.fu-berlin.de/en/sites/gender_egypt/project_overview/index.html. (October 2012-present)
• Providing consultation for the SHEMERA project (funded by the European Commission under the Science in Society Programme of FP7) http://shemera.eu/node/10 which aims to enhance research cooperation on gender and science between the European Union and the Mediterranean countries (December 2012-present).
