Arteriography is an important diagnostic toolproviding valuable information in so many lesionsshort of surgical exploration.Review of the literature of the anetomy of thelower limb arteries and their collaterals were discussed.H1storical review of the techniques of arteriographyand the different methods used in the lowerlimb were mentioned together with the possible complicat10nsA short resume” of the instruments used,X-rayequipm~nts and contrast media were pointed out.Twanty one cases of different vascular lesionsof the lower limb were examined in the X-ray departmentof Cairo and Benha University, and the resultswere tabulated. fully discussed regarding the clinicalpicture. the radiological findings, the technique usedand any complications were encountered.A study of the results of different authors insimilar lesions were mentioned.Being an invasive technique, it is recommendedthat arteriography should be done by an experiencedradiologist after proper assessment of the indioations. |
