Prof. Dr./ Safwat Zahran, President of Benha University, Dr./ David Arnold, President of the American University in Cairo, Lisa Anderson, the Academic Director of the University opened the first unit for early detection of breast cancer in the university. Dr./ Safwat Zahran, Benha University's President, affirmed that the new unit aims to provide medical services to the people of Qaliubiya and neighboring governorates for the treatment of breast cancer diseases under the supervision of a specialist medical authority and to participate in the process of raising public awareness on the factors leading for breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

The activities of the Cleanliness Campaign, entitled (Clean Your College), started first in Benha University on Monday, 12/14/2010 under the auspices of Prof. Dr./ Mohammed Safwat Zahran, President of the University, and Prof. Dr./ Ali Shams El-Din, Vice President for Education and Students' Affairs.

the department of Youth Welfare in Benha University organized an  Honor trip on 26.10.2010 to visit the tomb of the Unknown Soldier to pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs and put bouquets of roses in recognition and honoring for their sacrifices in the cause of the country. A great number of students from the faculties of universities has participated in the trip along with Prof. Dr./ Safwat Zahran, the University's President, Prof. Dr./ Ali Shams El-Din, Vice President of the University for Education and Students' Affairs, Prof. Dr./ Osama Ahmed Kamal, Vice President for Environment Development and Community Service, and Prof. Dr./ Suheir Shaarawi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research.

Benha University, headed by Prof. Dr./ Safwat Zahran, President of the University, and in the presence of Dr./ Magdi Qassim, Head of the National Authority for Ensuring the Quality of Education and Accreditation, held a symposium to spread the culture of quality in the university pursuant to the memorandum signed between the two parties and which provides for cooperation between the Authority and the University to achieve the quality assurance standards necessary for qualifying the university and its colleges and contributing in the qualification of the different groups of leaders and staff members of the faculty in the preparation of the self-study and the internal evaluation of the university's faculties as well as qualifying them as external and internal supervisors so as to make their competencies cope with the requirements of development and to motivate them to undertake the appropriate change at Benha University.
