Abstract:

The present study was intended to investigate how the location of air velocity inlet and outlet window location influences on airflow and temperature patterns inside the greenhouse. The investigation represents an integrated computational study of heat transfer, air flow inside greenhouse. This study make use of computational fluid dynamics using commercial package Fluent 6.2 to solve the governing differential equations of air flow and heat transfer. Experimental tests on a full-scale greenhouse of sizes 1.2 m x 1.0 m x 2.0 m (W x H x L) with two velocity inlet fans and exit window were used to obtain spatial distribution of air-temperature for validating the computer method. One of the main conclusions is that good agreement between both of full-scale physical modeling and numerical modeling were noticed .While the reported comparisons concluded that qualitative agreements were shown, some differences were also monitored in the thermal parameters.
