Abstract:

Abstract: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common chronic disease which has significance impact on quality of life, loss of productivity and financial expenditure .Aim :compare different modalities of treatment of allergic rhinitis using measurement of total serum IgE. Methods: study included 40 patients of allergic rhinitis disease .Patients divided into 4 groups ,each group includes 10 patients. There were four modalities of treatment of allergic rhinitis Results: 1)improvement of IgE serum level in only 3 patients in group IV(oral antihistaminic plus local corticosteroid) after 60 days of. treatment.2)Efficacy of the combination of oral antihistaminic and local corticosteroid were most effective in controlling of allergic rhinitis symptoms.3)Sneezing and nasal discharge were more frequently distributed among patientsConclusions: Measuring of total IgE in blood had a little diagnostic importance in observing the effect of medical therapy on the level of total IgE serum level
