Benha University organized the “Pink October” celebration to raise awareness about the early detection of breast cancer, for the sixth year in a row, at the Tahya Misr Hall of the Faculty of Medicine. The event supports the efforts of the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health and strengthens the culture of prevention and early screening.
The celebration was held under the auspices of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University; Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Mohamed El-Ashhab, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors. It was supervised by Prof. Nermeen Adly, General Coordinator of the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health at the Faculty of Medicine.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, with the participation of Dr. Amr Gamal and Dr. Alaa Seif, reflecting the collaboration among university sectors in support of health and awareness activities.
The celebration affirmed the importance of the health initiatives launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as a cornerstone for developing the healthcare system, expanding preventive and therapeutic services, and enhancing citizens’ access to medical care, with special attention to the health of Egyptian women.
It highlighted that the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health serves as a model of comprehensive healthcare by promoting awareness of the importance of early breast-cancer detection and providing screening, diagnosis, and treatment services—thereby increasing recovery rates, reducing complications, and improving women’s quality of life.
Benha University expressed its appreciation for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s efforts in launching and supporting presidential health initiatives that place the health of Egyptian citizens at the forefront of national priorities and regard investment in human health as a key pillar of development and the building of the New Republic.
The celebration continues the Faculty of Medicine’s six-year commitment at Benha University to supporting the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health through community awareness and emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups and early detection.
