Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, took part in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, chaired by Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, with the attendance of Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council, and university presidents, at Suez University.
During the session, prof. El-Gizawy presented a comprehensive report on Benha University's efforts to promote and embed a culture of human rights between 2021 and 2026. He highlighted key programs and initiatives designed to strengthen values of citizenship, belonging, and democracy, while raising awareness of human rights across the university community.
The report also reviewed the work of the University's Human Rights Unit, including seminars, training programs, and awareness activities, as well as the launch of the Benha University Award for Human Rights — an annual recognition aimed at honoring excellence and encouraging initiatives that advance human rights culture.
In addition, prof. El-Gizawy outlined the University's strategic plan for artificial intelligence (2027–2031), which seeks to expand the integration of AI applications across educational, research, administrative, and service sectors. The plan aligns with Egypt's national vision for digital transformation and knowledge economy development.
He reaffirmed Benha University's commitment to institutional performance development, keeping pace with technological advancements, and fostering the exchange of expertise and best practices among Egyptian universities — all in support of enhancing higher education and improving the quality of services delivered to the academic community.
