Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Applied Arts and the Textile Industry Support Fund. The ceremony was attended by prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The protocol was signed by prof. Osama Nada, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, and Eng. Sami Mohamed Gad, General Director of the Textile Industry Support Fund. Also present were prof. Nevine Farouk, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Basel Refaat, Head of the Commercial Sector; Eng. Abdel Rahman Abdel Nabi, Head of the Technical Sector; Dr. Heba Abdel Mohsen, Protocol Coordinator; Dr. Sally Raouf, Director of the Textile Technology Laboratory; and Mr. Ahmed Abdo, General Director of External Relations at the Fund.
Prof. El-Gizawy emphasized that the protocol aligns with Benha University's strategy of linking scientific research to industry and community needs, noting that research is the driving force behind industrial progress. The agreement aims to enhance manufacturing capabilities in the textile sector, create strategic partnerships, and increase employment opportunities for graduates. It also seeks to develop new products, improve production processes, and strengthen knowledge-based investment.
He added that the protocol covers curriculum development, educational programs tailored to market needs, student training in textile factories, field visits for students and faculty, and the use of the faculty as a consulting body for technical support. It also promotes scientific research aligned with industry requirements.
Eng. Sami Mohamed Gad expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting the Faculty of Applied Arts' strong infrastructure, human resources, and accredited laboratories—such as the Textile Technology Laboratory, certified by the National Accreditation Council (EGAC) in accordance with ISO/IEC international standards under the Ministry of Industry.
