Benha University Ranks Among Top Arab Universities in QS Arab Region University Rankings 2026

Benha, Egypt – Prof. Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, has announced the results of the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2026, confirming the university's position at 122nd place among 298 universities across 20 Arab countries.
This edition saw an increase of 82 ranked institutions compared to the previous year. Among Egyptian universities, Benha University secured 18th place out of 42 ranked Egyptian public, private, and national universities – an increase of seven universities from the previous ranking cycle.
Prof. Dr. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, highlighted that the QS ranking system evaluates universities based on several key criteria, including:
· Academic reputation
· Faculty-to-student ratio
· Proportion of international faculty members
· Percentage of international students
· Proportion of faculty members holding PhD degrees
· Research output per faculty member
· Citation per faculty member
· Web impact and online presence
She further emphasized the significance of this ranking in evaluating academic programs and graduates, noting that the QS criteria serve as practical and scientific indicators for assessing universities, recognizing their programs and certifications, and continuously reviewing them to develop higher education plans and policies.
The University President extended his congratulations to the entire university community – faculty, administrative staff, and students – for this achievement, which reflects the university's growing institutional and academic reputation, increased confidence among stakeholders and society, and enhanced standing with employers.
